I have been meaning to post this one seemingly forever, but I just kept forgetting. It's a sunset picture I took during a Tishomingo High School football game in October of 2018. The colors in the sky just really grabbed me...

After reconfiguring the annual event during the previous two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnston County EMS welcomed hundreds of participants - young and old alike - for the return of its traditional Easter Egg Scamble at the Tishomingo High School football field last Saturday, April 9. Participants in five age divisions - ranging from 0-2 to 50 and up - took to the field to collect their share of 10,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes, while also getting a close-up look at ambulances, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles.

Okay, time for just one more before I have to turn my attention back to other things for the moment...

This is one I never really intended to share. My dad and I were sent by the newspaper to Murray State College in January 2020 to attend a legislative luncheon featuring our local state officials. The Aggie Dining Room is a nice place to hold such events, but the lighting isn't all that great for taking pictures and anytime I go there I have to spend quite a bit of time getting my light readings just right. That's what I was doing when I snapped this shot of my dad's notebook, tea and cookies while waiting for the event to start.

To me it was just a "throwaway" shot but when Dad saw it he liked it and convinced me to keep it, just for the fun of it. He calls it "Still Life At A Legislative Luncheon 2020." Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end up using it as the cover art to one of his books someday...

A couple of band-related photos I've been meaning to post, both of which ended up in the newspaper if I remember correctly: the first was taken at the first Tishomingo home football game of the COVID-stricken 2020 season. I know that one made the paper because it has been entered in one of the photo categories in this year's Oklahoma Press Association Better Newspaper Contest. The second photo was taken the year before; it shows the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard bearing the colors at the head of the 2019 Chickasaw Festival Parade in downtown Tishomingo.

A couple of pretty decent sunset pictures I was able to get while covering some high school football games. The first one was taken during a home game here in Tishomingo back in 2018; the second I took from the parking lot at an away game this past October, can't remember where...

Some shots taken during our summer vacation in 2018. (Yes, that's how long it's been since I did any serious posting... yikes!) I was a little disappointed of the shot I took of the herd of bison we encountered in North Dakota, mainly because it rained quite a bit during that leg of the trip and it made for a difficult time with the camera, but if you look close you can see a rainbow in this shot I managed to get as the rain let up.

Speaking of the newspaper, here's a sequence of shots I took while covering a Tishomingo football game with my dad this past fall. This was a pretty controversial play because of the bad ruling by the official, which we still maintain my photos disproved. Oh, well...
