STUDIO CONFESSION 🌿

I opened a closet the other day and found something kind of heartbreaking…

Seven of my fine art prints. Sitting there. Quiet. A little forgotten. Waiting.

And honestly… they deserve better than that.

These pieces were created to be seen, to be part of a home, to make someone smile every single day, not tucked away in the dark. Maybe your walls have a spot that feels a little empty.
Maybe you have a special mom in your life and Mother’s Day is coming up. Or maybe one of these just feels like it belongs with you. Prints are all 12 "x 18" with about a 2" mat border

Well… I guess it’s time to let the cat out of the bag 😸
Yes, I photograph cats too. LOL. Just not as often.

Cats can be a tiny bit more… adventurous… than their canine counterparts 🐈✨ So how do you know if your cat might be a good studio candidate?

A lot of it comes down to their personality and how they handle new environments:

If getting your cat into a carrier feels like an Olympic sport 🏅
or they turn into a disappearing act at the vet 🫥 the studio might not be their happy place.

But… If your cat is curious, confident, and loves to explore 🐾. If they tolerate (or even enjoy) the vet. If they stroll into their carrier like royalty 👑

They just might be a purrfect fit for a session 😻

Ohhh Phoebe Grace ✨🐾

Meet Phoebe Grace, a 13 month old Australian Sheepadoodle with the softest cream coat and the biggest heart. A few months ago her mom, Claudine, brought her in to see me and honestly… I get it. Completely. Utterly. Smitten. 🥹💛

Phoebe has that kind of personality that pulls you right in. Sweet, curious, and just a little mischievous in the most lovable way. Her mom says she loves to steal slippers and shoes 👟😅 but here’s the funny part… she doesn’t chew them. She just collects them like tiny treasures.

Now toys? Toys do not stand a chance 😂.🧸Fluff must be liberated. Squeakers must be defeated.

She is pure joy, soft curls, and total puppy magic. Watching the bond between Claudine and Phoebe was such a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do 💕.

Next month’s Quick Tails sessions are coming up and I am so excited about this look. This photo of Mabel is a perfect example of the clean, timeless images that will be offered. Simple. Beautiful. All about the dog.

March sessions take place March 7th and 8th and spots are limited. Moving forward (due to events on site at my complex out of my control) I have switched Quick Tails to be two days, but shorter.

She is wearing my 2026 client gift bandana, handmade by me and finished with my logo. Just one of the fun little touches that come in my client swag bags. And yes, I sew. Apparently I am multi talented.

If you want one of these custom bandanas, a full legacy session is the way to go. For Quick Tails, I recommend bringing your own bandana, bow, or simple accessory. It will pop beautifully against the solid white background and add just the right amount of personality.

Hi, I’m Erica.

You want photos that feel real. Not stiff, not forced, and not overly posed. You want images that reflect connection, personality, and the moments that matter most, whether that is your family, your pet, your senior year, or the business you have worked so hard to build.

That is where I come in.

I photograph families, pets, high school seniors, and businesses with a calm, thoughtful approach that allows people and animals to be themselves. Pets move at their own pace. Kids do not need to perform. Seniors do not need to fit a mold. Business owners do not need to pretend to be someone they are not. My job is to create space, guide when needed, and capture what feels honest and true.

Pets are at the heart of my work, but people have always been part of the story. Sometimes those stories overlap beautifully. Sometimes they stand on their own. All of them are welcome here.

Even as a photographer, I understand how important it is to be in the photos too. These images were taken by my friend Russell with Sage Studios, and they remind me why this work matters. Being photographed requires trust. It means letting go and being seen. I carry that understanding into every session I photograph.

BTS: Calm, stoic photos rarely come from forcing a pose 🐾 They come from patience, treats, and letting pets be themselves. A short walk beforehand, familiar or high value treats, and a low pressure, fun environment often matter more than perfect behavior. Did I mention teamwork 🤝 Getting pups to sit still is by no means a solo effort. My pet parents are right there working with me as we do our best to help their dog cooperate 💙

It has come to my attention that I may have done too good of a job making people’s dogs look like perfect angels 😇 Remember when you see the beautiful images I share, you are only seeing a fraction of a second of what really happens 😂 (enjoy these not so beautiful BTS images to remind ALL pets, no matter how crazy are welcome at the studio)

With Mabel’s 5th birthday coming up, it got me thinking about birthday cake and how we celebrate the dogs who mean so much to us. Baking your dog a cake is more than a fun treat, it is a way to honor birthdays, gotcha days, and the everyday joy they bring into our lives. I shared why dog friendly cakes matter, what ingredients to look for, and how these simple moments turn into memories worth preserving.

💙 February Quick Tails are now open for booking 💙

New for 2026, Quick Tails are 30-minute boutique, dog portrait sessions at Erica Lane Photography studio. They include five loose 5x7 prints, a social media post to share, and a small swag bag. Investment is $375.

February's set will be a clean, blue set using seamless paper. Quick Tails will be offered every month, each with a completely different look. If February does not work for you, feel free to book ahead. I will share the design for each Quick Tails session during the first week of every month.

Spots are limited and sessions fill quickly.

The words, not word, for 2026 for me are MAKE TIME. Make time for the things you love, make time for the things you dream of and so on. So I did that yesterday with my friend Albert. I MADE TIME to go on an adventure with a friend, and I MADE TIME for wildlife photography. It was so therapeutic to be out in nature just being, having fun and laughing. HELLO! Long time no chat over here. Sorry about that. Been wrapping up stuff from a fall business class and doing the usual holiday business 🙂 Would love A LIKE just to know you are still out there following along! In trade enjoy this cute picture of Angel, a 9-week-old Pomski. Her mom did a "Watch Me Grow" Package at the start of 2025 and I am now finally able to share the results! This picture was one of her favs so had to post that one first 😍😍.
