Explore the diversity and beauty of northern Costa Rica on a five-day bird photography tour with a local birding guide and nature and wildlife photographer Nick Leadley. The lowlands of northern Costa Rica offer a wide range of opportunities to see and photograph birds. You’ll see resident and migrant birds ranging from rainforest species to hummingbirds and wading birds. Other wildlife includes Howler monkeys, reptiles including iguanas and green basilisks, and the colorful frogs that appear at night. Nearby to the lodge are research stations and canopy towers that offer unique opportunities to see birds and wildlife. The trip is open to all skill levels and includes hands-on instruction from Nick. Birders are also welcome.

I am pleased to work in cooperation with Holbrook Travel in Gainesville, Florida, to offer this photography tour. Selva Verde Lodge and Rainforest Preserve provide accommodations on the banks of the Sarapiqui River. The dates of the trip are April 14th – 20th, 2024. We are working on details for a tour extension into the highlands of Costa Rica. Per-person rates are coming shortly. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
