A very active Blackpoll Warbler singing his si-si-si-si-si song. I really enjoy finding these higher altitude specialists as the return later in migration to establish territories.

Registration for the 2026 Rangeley Birding festival is now open. Trips are filling up fast so don't delay if you want to experience birding the western mountains of Maine.
This Thursday (April 9) the second episode in the 2026 season of Maine Public Broadcasting's Borealis airs at 8:30 p.m. Tune in to see host Aislinn Sarnacki as she visit's last year's festival.

I am honored to be serving on the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust's Outdoor Recreation Council. One of the goal's of the ORC is to develop a long-range plan for the trails on the RLHT properties. The trust is seeking input through the following brief survey.

Certainly larger and no less colorful than some other Costa Rican birds, the King Vulture was definitely a thrill to see and photograph in the northern part of the country.
