4 years ago I would never believe you if you told me I would get to do the things I do today...
This evening I just renewed my contract with some sponsors who have recognized me for my running achievements, and it all hit me...
Over the last 3-4 years I lost track of who I was before I lost over 150lbs. For better or for worse, that version of me melted away as the weight kept coming off.
Losing weight is not easy, it’s one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I had to learn who not be who I was for 24 years of my life, I had to learn how to eat right (multiple times), how to accept defeat, how to accept challenges, how to accept myself...
But in all of that, the greatest things in my life happened...
I learned the true meaning of patients, I learned what it meant to truly LOVE yourself. I learned to be the best version of me each day.
And I am still learned day by day.
Of all my accomplishments thus far, my best has been asking Isabelle to marry me...
Isabelle is my absolute best fan and number one supporter in all the things I do. From cheering my on at races, to supporting my wildest ideas, and being a voice of concern when she observes things about me I would never notice. She is my absolute rock and the one thing that keeps me focused and wanting to be better every day.
Never give up on your goals, no matter how far and wide they may be... patients and dedication is key.
