Worthville Mill burning on Deep River South East of Randleman, started this evening and they will be on the scene maybe all night. It got into the woods at one point and they had to evacuate some homes in the area..
Multiple Fire trucks from Randleman, Sophia, Asheboro, East Side, Seagrove, Guil-Rand, Pinecroft-Sedgefield that I saw.

We are so proud of Miss North Carolina Taylor Loyd. How many Grandparents get to watch their granddaughter complete in the Miss America Pageant, win Talent and make the final 11. I can not wait to see what doors will open and what the next chapter will be in her life!

What I was made for… 🥲

When I was 2 months old, my parents grabbed a princess dress off a Build-A-Bear and wrote “Miss America 2024” on a piece of ribbon for a last-minute Halloween costume.

Tonight, I will compete for the title of Miss America 2024. It’s beautiful how life comes to us in these unexpected ways.

Though, like most girls growing up, I didn’t see myself as Miss America or any sort of titleholder at all. I never thought I could step on a stage with confidence, much less one as monumentous as this one.

The past decade of my life, though, has been shaped by this dream and the belief that one day maybe it could happen if I worked hard enough and trusted myself. I’ve learned everything there is about myself in walking this road and I’ve learned how to be confident in that. I’ve learned to find peace in any outcome and stillness in any circumstance.

Because, we are not our circumstances. We are the mosaic of every beautiful thing that enters the walls of our heart. Miss America has shown me how to find beauty in every little thing— not in the conventional sense of beauty but in the loyalty of chosen family, in the selflessness of service to humanity, and in the growing comfort of self-love.

There are a million words I could write in waxing poetic but I’ll lean into the skill of conciseness and lead with gratitude for every person that has cheered me on near and far.

A lifelong dream turned into a goal and then a reality. Now it’s time to see just how far that reality will take me 🤍
