Getting kids to smile on camera doesn’t have to mean forcing a “cheese”. Sometimes the best, most genuine smiles come from a little creativity + a lot of fun. Here’s some easy tips:

1️⃣ Skip “say cheese” and try asking them what sound an animal makes.
2️⃣ Have them say “I love you mommy/daddy” for the sweetest reactions
3️⃣ Let them move, jump, play, and be silly. That’s where their real personalities can shine through.
4️⃣ Don’t forget to be their biggest cheerleader!

Struggling to soothe your newborn during their session or at home? Try this simple trick! 👶

Sometimes small rocking movements aren’t enough. Gentle, slightly bigger swings can help distract baby for a moment and reset them before settling back into slower soothing.

And don’t worry if your baby gets fussy, it’s completely normal! I’m always there to guide you through different soothing techniques so your session stays calm and stress-free.

I meant to post this before Christmas but to be honest, I was focusing on spending time with family and enjoying the holidays + my birthday! So, here’s a precious little belated Christmas post for you.

The busy Fall season has come to an end and I am so grateful for all of the wonderful families that I got to photograph this year!

Heading into 2026, I am going to do things a little bit differently to help me as I continue to seek the balance between work and family that feels right for me. This is an ongoing process and it will probably never be “perfect” but that’s okay!

For outdoor sessions I am going to book a certain number each month but wait until a month or so before to select the exact date and time. This will allow me to have a better idea of my family’s schedule and will also help me keep a reasonable limit on the number of sessions that I take on.

Then, when Fall comes I am looking at offering shorter sessions at set locations and will have more details on that later! In the meantime, if you know that you’d like to schedule a session in the next few months please reach out so we can get you on my list. Thank you so much for helping me continue to build and shape this business that I love. ❤️

Hello, December! I’ve wrapped all of my outdoor sessions for the year which means I’m shifting to studio & in-home to wrap up 2025. As the temps dip below freezing I’ll be staying warm and cozy - like this sweet little lady during her 1st birthday simple studio session.
