Sometimes the simplest things are the most comforting. My mom picked up this vintage Italian serving platter to put in my Etsy shop and when I saw it, I saw chickpea lemon salad with fresh vegetables, a summer vibe, and just a light and airy Tuscan sun. What’s great about vintage shopping is you get to have a piece of the world in your own home. This piece will be available in my vintage kitchen section in my Etsy shop soon. For now I’m enjoying the summer vibe and the fabulous salad.

These are my rescues, honey boo-boo, and Lulu. Lulu originates from the Ukraine and is my Covid kitty. Honey boo-boo found me and adopted me when I moved into my new house four years ago in North Carolina.

Miss boo-boo is FIV + and she has lovely been known as the garage kitty. Sometimes Lulu and honey boo get to see each other through my French door and I always felt that when Lulu looked at boo-boo through the glass, she saw herself; as incredibly beautiful. Lulu is right she is beautiful in her own alien style.

I wanted to create an image where Lulu saw herself as boo-boo in the mirror and I couldn’t wrap my head around the mechanics of getting it done so I asked AI to help me out.

North Carolina could use a little rain right now…
and maybe we could too.

and a soft place to land when they come.

but the flowers are from my mom’s yard.

A Texas rose that I’m propagating…
so a piece of it keeps growing.

There’s something about combining the two—
something found, something rooted.

There’s so much going on behind the scenes. The Balanced Lens is blooming. I’m curating my Etsy shop collection. It’s amazing and I’m so excited to share it with you. I live in an incredible pottery community so many of my vintage pottery pieces are from local artists.
