Some places hold history, some places hold legacy, and some hold both.

Aimee & Justin’s engagement session at Duke Gardens wasn’t just beautiful — it was meaningful. So many of their family members walked through Duke’s campus years before them. Stories were written there. Degrees were earned there. Traditions began there.

So choosing Duke Gardens felt less like picking a “pretty spot” and more like honoring a chapter that shaped generations.

And then there’s their wedding day.

They aren’t choosing a ballroom. They aren’t choosing a venue with a map.

They’re getting married at home.

A backyard tented celebration— under the same sky they’ve shared dinners, holidays, and ordinary Tuesdays. The place where real life happens. The place that already holds their story.

There is something incredibly powerful about getting married in spaces that already mean something to you. No manufactured sentiment. No borrowed backdrop. Just legacy and intention.
