The calmest lake I ever did see ✨

I’d originally hoped to capture sunset here, but honestly I really enjoyed watching this moody scene unfold, too, as storm clouds and autumn hues alike painted the surface of the water. A subtle reminder to always appreciate the beauty around you, even when things don’t play out quite as you envisioned. Fall really is spectacular in all the ways 🍂🍁

Scenes from a two-night trip through the beautiful Blue Ridge highlands of southwest Virginia 🏕️🌄➡️

Some highlights include a calm foggy morning, one stellar sunset, two hidden gem campsites, lots of ponies, and zero bears. Not to mention the temperature couldn’t have been more perfect — 60s to hike, 50s to sleep — just a tease of what’s to come these next couple of months.
