I finally was able to capture my first deep sky object or DSO. The Orion Nebula. This DSO is the most popular targeted for astrophotography and is even visible with the naked eye. It is over 1,000 light years away. I was able to capture the nebula on top of a mountain in south west Virginia. There was little to no light pollution however I did not factor in the wind being 3,000 feet above sea level....
