St. John Nepomuk Church, part of the Catholic Community of Eight in Racine, celebrated its 130th anniversary on May 16th. This church was build to serve the Catholic Czech community in Racine, Wisconsin. Many Czech families called this their home parish. It is now one of eight sights of, the soon to be, St. Leo the Great parish; and numerous more people worship here.
130th Mass was celebrated by Bishop Schuerman with pastor Fr. Juan Camacho. A relic of St. John Nepomuk was present on the altar. It was a blessing to capture this special Mass.

First Holy Communion

"While they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is My body.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many." ~ Mark 14:22-23

It was such a joy to capture this lovely First Communicant while receiving our Lord and afterward. This one was extra special to me because this is my granddaughter.

So happy for you on your special day. May you always grow by the light of God's love your whole life through.

Christ is Risen Alleluia!

The word "Easter" comes from Old English, meaning simply the "East." The sun which rises in the East, bringing light, warmth, and hope, is a symbol for the Christian of the rising Christ, who is the true Light of the world.

Such a beautiful (cold) morning to celebrate the risen Lord! Racine was blessed to celebrate Easter sunrise Mass at the Lakefront with Fr. Juan Fr. Richter, and Fr. Timothy.

The Easter Triduum begins with the evening Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday, reaches its high point in the Easter Vigil.
The for main points of Easter Vigil are the Service of Light, the Liturgy of the Word, the Celebration of Baptism, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. It moves from darkness to light, tracing salvation history from creation to the Resurrection.
