I took this photo without realizing who I had captured until I started editing. And honestly, I couldn’t help but smile when I realized it was Patty, because this is a very rare moment when she doesn’t have a camera in her hand. ❤️

This is Patricia Rustin-Christen, better known as Patty of Porch Pig Productions. She is the OFFICIAL photographer of the NCCWR, and has been for as long as I can remember.

If you’ve ever attended the NCCWR, you’ve seen Patty. She is everywhere, every day, every night, at every event. She is constantly working, constantly capturing moments, and somehow always manages to have a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone around her.

There are dozens of photographers who work the NCCWR, and I can honestly say that none of us work as hard as Patty does. She has earned my tremendous respect, not only for her talent and dedication, but for the kind of person she is.

I had the opportunity to spend some time with her this year, and what touched me most was the way she made me feel seen, valued, and welcome. She is not a photographer who gatekeeps or makes anyone feel less than. Quite the opposite, she encourages, shares, teaches, listens, and genuinely wants to see other photographers succeed.

She encouraged me this year, and we talked, laughed, shared ideas, and learned from each other. I’m incredibly grateful for that.

So, I just wanted to give Patty a little shout out and let her know how proud I am to work alongside such a stand up person and incredibly talented photographer.

Patty, you are one of a kind, and the NCCWR is lucky to have you. I’m lucky to know you. ❤️📸
