This is one of the older bears we encountered on the trip. He stayed in pretty much the same spot on the river and would sit on the bank under the same tree waiting for the fish to swim to him. He was quite successful in his efforts. This series shows him sitting, then diving, catching, eating, and then cleaning his paws. He was quite the entertainer. And he had no issues with us being close. The area of the river was quite narrow and we were close - these are at 200mm.

Sometimes after the bears ate a fish or if they were bored and not catching fish, they would much out on the grasses along the shoreline. I guess it is their way of getting fiber in their diets. This younger bear was gorgeous and was walking and eating at the same time and then he stopped to pose for me!

A juvenile Osprey was sitting low on a fallen tree on the bank of the river. He was yelling non-stop, we think trying to get the attention of Dad who was sitting on a nearby tree.

Momma Bear at a place they call the 'Fish Bowl'. The water comes around a corner and swirls around to create a still water area and the fish love it. I slowed the shutter speed way down to get the silky effect on the water.
