Heyyyy, folks. We're back on a somewhat limited basis. I don't get much business as it is but I do like having a place to showcase what I've done, and to have questions answered if there are any.

Sometimes there comes a point in your life where it becomes necessary to reevaluate your situation and your options. Unfortunately, I have hit that point in my life concerning my photography business. As much as I love photography, and as much as I love the interaction that I have with my customers and clients, as much as I love the ability to bring so much joy into someone's life with something so simple and straightforward, it has become necessary for me to close my figurative doors. This decision does not come lightly, and it comes out the heels of a lot of soul-searching and decision-making that has been heartbreaking for me personally. I am in a position where I can not compete with other local photographers who are better known, who have access to better equipment, who have spacious studios, and whose hours do not revolve around their ability to have someone watch their children. I will still unquestionably provide pictures for any of my close friends or family who would like me to, but I will no longer be providing public services. I steadfastly believe that whenever someone feels the need to make such a difficult and big decision like this, that there are still always better things in the future to come. I am hoping that my better things will come, and that everyone who has given me the amazing opportunity to be a part of your family's lives continues to be greatly blessed and happy in all the things that they do. Thank you so much for allowing me to have walked with you all on this winding path for the last 8 years or so that my business has existed. If it weren't for all of you, I never would have grown as much as I have norvlearned as much as I have. Thank you again.

October is booking quickly! Make sure the day and time slot you want is open. Evenings have great lighting this time of year, and there are a number of gorgeous spots outdoors that will provide a fantastic backdrop!

Autumn is a great time for having family pictures done. The changing leaves and cooler temperatures make it easy and fun to have an outdoor shoot that isn't uncomfortably warm or cold and is absolutely gorgeous. It's a great time for senior pictures or to do personalized school pictures, too!

Getting to help contribute to the portfolio of an amazingly talented individual is a great honor indeed. Each of these gorgeous models exuded grace and confidence. Although life stepped in and made it take longer than I would have liked, I'm happy to say my contribution to her photo project has completed. As I've never specifically done what amounted to be detailed headshots before, I learned a lot. I'm pleased with the results.

Days are getting cooler and school is starting again! If you aren't a fan of the forced poses of school pictures then I have the solution for you. For just $40 we'll head to a location of your choice and get some great shots of your child. You'll get unwatermarked digital copies of the best pictures and best of all you'll have the rights to make as many copies as you please!

I heard recently that a photographer refused to do family pictures for a little boy with Down Syndrome. I can't even bring myself to come up with words for such a disturbing, disgusting act on the behalf of the heartless photographer who refused those pictures. As such until further notice families with children with special needs may contact me for a family photo session for FREE.
Children are beautiful. A diagnosis does not negate that.

Today a good friend of mine announced that her family's dynamic has changed. They are still a family of four, still happily married, still proud parents of two sons - but they are now a cancer family, the parents of a four month old baby boy named Jace, newly diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
While they are fortunate in that they have decent insurance, an amazing support system, and even friends who have been in their shoes and can help guide them down this incredibly difficult road, none of those things will help with basic needs. Those things will not pay for late night meals, for gas to travel to and from here to the nearest Children's hospital some two hours away. It won't make up for days off lost to doctor appointments and rough days and long nights. And while money isn't always the most helpful thing one can get in times like these (and I would ask, unquestionably, that you please keep my friends Alisha and Javier and their sons in your prayers as well), it CAN make things a little easier.
To that degree, I would like to announce that for the next two months, until the birth of my own child, 100% of the proceeds of ALL of my photo shoots will be going EXCLUSIVELY to the Skwara family to help them. Be it $30 or $300 or $3000 that heads their way, it's all their's - without hesitation.
Please share this with your friends. I want nothing more than to try to help these amazing people, and while I personally plan to do more, this is something we can ALL do to help.
