This Veterans Day, I’m focusing on hope. And invite you to do the same.
The Seahawks organization has noted there are six major military installations within 60 miles of where the team plays in Seattle. That presence of servicemen and women, their families, along with veterans of all ages and backgrounds, has driven the Seahawks and local non-profit groups to provide support for these individuals and families. Mission Outdoors, a member of the Hawks’ Task Force 12 group, is one such organization — inviting those who’ve served to find connection through the outdoors.
Bob Franks, a retired Master Sergeant for the U.S. Marine Corps, shares why connection is vital for veterans as they battle PTSD and how he found that himself in this short, independent documentary.
A heartfelt thanks to the Seattle Seahawks and Mike Flood, the amazing people with Mission Outdoors and to Bob Franks, who not only trusted me with his story but taught me there lies depth and complexity of humanity behind a uniform.
