Some of the most revealing moments at networking events happen AFTER you politely decline. 👀📸 Does the conversation continue… or did the friendliness come with an expectation? Porque ahí también se aprende. 🤷🏽‍♀️

After over a decade in these spaces, I value connections where we can enjoy each other without a shoot, favor, or opportunity being promised, I owe people that same respect… even when I’m the one disappointed. 🖤🤝🏽

We can hear “no” without turning it into “who do they think they are?”…

Having a camera doesn’t mean I owe you a photoshoot… Y sí, we can be cool and that can STILL be true. 😌

“Just bring your camera” sounds casual… until you remember there’s a whole person behind it who has to plan, create, direct, edit, and deliver. Mi tiempo también cuenta, even when creating looks effortless. 👀✨

I love what I do, but loving my work doesn’t mean I’m always available to work. Sometimes I’m there to support, connect, or simply enjoy myself without turning the moment into a deliverable. 🫶🏽 And I’ll own my part: there were times I said yes when I wanted to say no, hoping being generous would build mutual appreciation, I’ve had to learn to communicate my limits instead of expecting people to recognize them, pero ya aprendí. 🌱

I still value collaboration!!! Give me intention, mutual respect, and an idea we BOTH feel excited about. Creative chemistry deserves room to exist without obligation. 🤝🏽🔥

You can appreciate my eye, support my work, and respect my “no” in the same breath… Eso también es cariño. 🖤

As creatives, we know how much goes unseen: the doubts, the edits, the quiet seasons, the courage it takes to put something personal into the world, so when someone gets their moment? Celébralo! You know what it took to get there. ✨

Share their work.
Say their name when an opportunity fits.
Give credit.
Speak well of them in rooms they haven’t entered yet.
Ese apoyo también abre puertas. 🤝🏽🌱

And if comparison shows up, we’re human… You can acknowledge that feeling without letting it decide how you treat someone else. Their progress might even remind you of what’s possible for you. 🔮💜

My daughter handed me pink sheets from one of her games like, “You could use these for your photos.” 🎀💡 La niña understood the assignment before there even WAS an assignment! 😂💖 A little DIY moment later, we had a backdrop, then Miss Liliana showed up in their pink dress y todo cayó en su sitio. 📸✨
