This little guy is called a Putto. Cupid, Cherubs and Putti are all very different creatures but many people think that they are the same. Cupid is a Roman god, his counterpart is Eros in Greek mythology. Cupid is the son of Venus and Mars, their counterparts known as Aphrodite, the goddess of love and Ares, the god of war. A Cherub is a winged celestial being with four faces, an eagle, human, ox, and lion. It has two sets of wings and hooves instead of feet. Even though it's appearance is disturbing, it is infact an angel. Now the Putti are sometimes winged but always chubby male children that are naked.
