✨ Small businesses supporting small businesses! ✨

One thing I absolutely LOVE about being a small business owner is having the opportunity to connect with other business owners and support each other in ways beyond just spending money. ❤️

When I saw that Shaya was looking for maternity photos and was offering car detailing services in exchange, I QUICKLY jumped on that opportunity! 🙌

With our big move from Colorado to Georgia coming up, I knew one thing I desperately needed was a CLEAN car before making that cross-country drive with the family! 😂🚗

And let me tell you, Desired details did NOT disappoint!

I got to do what I love most, capturing such a beautiful and special chapter in Shaya’s life, while she got to do what she does best! It’s truly a win-win situation, and that’s what supporting small businesses is all about.

Sometimes the best way to support another business isn’t by exchanging money, but by exchanging talents, skills, and services. We all have something valuable to offer, and I wish more small businesses would take advantage of opportunities like this!

Well, Colorado… I guess this is ONE way to end an era! 😂🎂

My very last studio session in Colorado was full of smiles, cake, and one tiny little detail I didn’t notice until editing… the N in ONE was BACKWARDS. IN. EVERY. SINGLE. PHOTO. 🫠🤣

And let me tell you, fixing that N in Photoshop was an absolute JOY. 😂 Nothing like one final editing challenge to send me off!

But all jokes aside, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter way to close this chapter. 🥹❤️

That studio held so many first birthdays, tiny newborns, growing bellies, family memories, happy tears, and moments I’ll never forget. It’s bittersweet knowing this was my final session within those walls.

Colorado, thank you for trusting me with your babies, your milestones, and your memories. You’ve given me so much more than a photography business. You’ve given me friendships, growth, and a whole lot of love.

One last cake smash. One backwards N. And a million memories I’ll carry with me. 🤍

💜 Relay for Life of Southern Colorado 💜

There are some events that mean so much more than simply showing up with a camera, and Relay for Life is one of them.

I’m incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to photograph Relay for Life of Southern Colorado again this year. Being trusted to capture an event filled with so much strength, hope, remembrance, and community is something I don’t take lightly.

Relay for Life brings together survivors, caregivers, families, friends, and supporters to honor those who have faced cancer, celebrate survivors, remember the loved ones we’ve lost, and continue supporting the fight for a future without cancer.

Behind every lap walked, every luminaria, every hug, and every name displayed is a story. 💜 My goal is to preserve as many of those moments as I can.

As we prepare to say goodbye to Colorado and begin our next chapter in Georgia, being able to photograph this event again feels especially meaningful. Southern Colorado has supported Powell Photo Studio in so many ways, and I’m honored to give back by documenting a night that represents just how powerful a community can be when it comes together.

Here’s to celebrating survivors, remembering those we miss, supporting those still fighting, and capturing the moments that deserve to be remembered. 💜🎗️
