Winter is here! And while I know that winter does come with its own challenges (read: getting kids to keep their mittens on), I admit I always feel some excitement coming on with this particular change of season. You just don’t get a full winter season everywhere, and I think that Utah winters are worth celebrating! Hi, I'm Dania! Documentary photographer of five years now, and if there's anything that makes me come alive, it's the magnitude of *life itself.*

On my own time, I'm with my three kids raising animals, growing a garden, and exploring the stunning Wasatch Mountains we call home.

When I'm on a session with you, we do the same—only, your version. My role as a documentary photographer is to bear witness to the details, large and small, of life in the way that you live it. In your morning pancakes and bike rides to school, in your home improvement projects, in your quiet moments stolen from the chaos of the day.

Your life, your whole entire life, is art. Is magic. And documentary photography is how you get the vantage point to see it. 📷✨

If you've kept an eye on my stories, you know that my beautiful AKC Collie .pup delivered eight healthy puppies this week. I've spent every spare minute since soaking in new life, and it feels nothing short of absolutely miraculous. To be invited into the space of another being while she is at her most vulnerable and also her most powerful? That is walking on sacred ground.

I will always love the stories that the clutter tells. In the lower left of the frame, a picnic basket filled with craft supplies. Back on the table, an enormous bag of carrots that I over-ambitiously purchased. The plants on the window sill, the stuffed dog on the tupperware, the sticky reflection on the unwiped counter. They all tell stories, they spark memories, they fill the photo with traces of our family's soul. This is our life, our space, our things. This is the live that we share. And it is all breathtaking.
