LOOK BACK AT IT

Running it back to last Sunday’s photo walk and some of the fine folks who joined us for a truly wonderful evening.

Shout out to , one of Rhode Island’s finest artists, for snapping this photo after we bumped into him and his family on the pedestrian bridge.

WALKING THE WALK

Thank you to everyone who came out for the anniversary photo walk! It was truly incredible to be in such good company to celebrate our 4th anniversary. Memories have to be made in order for there to be photos of them and we are grateful for yesterday’s joy and fellowship.

We wanted to take moment to say a special thank you to Julia Broome and the good folks at for making space for our post-walk festivities, but also for allowing us to hang an abridged version of the ‘Family Business’ exhibition, which will be on view until Sunday, September 1st. Stop by and see the work—and get yourself something to eat and drink while you’re at it!

Thanks again to everyone who supported TVG over the years. Be on the lookout for news you can use on upcoming future events!

It takes more than a love of photography to get an exhibition off the ground and the curatorial team wanted to take the time to recognize the community that helped bring FAMILY BUSINESS to life.

A very sincere thank you to David DeMelim and The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts () for inviting us to tell these beautiful and important stories.

Thank you to Mixed Magic Theatre () for continuing to be a space where Vanta Guild projects can be cultivated and developed.

Thank you to both Thomas Walsh () and iO Labs () for their deep generosity and keen talent in creating the prints for this exhibition.

Thank you to the incredible Mary Beth Meehan () for her energy, passion, and expertise as a photographic and curatorial consultant.

Thank you to Melaine Ferdinand-King () for her keen curatorial vision and providing the language that helped to frame and focus this show.

Of course, many, many thanks must go to the exhibition’s very gifted photographers: Momo Akoiwala (.akoi), Kai Davis (), Aiyah Josiah-Faeduwor (), Kevin Saye Kehyei (), Kincaid McLaren (), Rafael Medina (), Shaun Morse (), Marlisse Payamps (), Jonathan Pitts-Wiley (), Sean Powell (.sean), Dee Speaks (), and Imani Ylsanita ().

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to our families – both given and chosen – for their devotion, wisdom, and patient willingness to help us preserve these moments and share them with the world. We remain grateful for each and every one of you.

While love drives this endeavor to cultivate, develop, and exhibit the stories of the many talented photographers in our community, love alone cannot cover the costs of labor. Please consider making a donation below to support future TVG programming endeavors. Thank you!
