Rio šŸ¤ŽA little late posting these senior photos from last year, but I just couldn’t keep these late summer and fall colors to myself. She’s always such a fun model! Now she’s breakaway roping in the PRCA, and killing it as an esthetician, I’m so proud of her!

Good food deserves great storytelling! I took these for Cascade Crust Wood Fired Pizza for their website and marketing. From the wood fire burning inside the pizza truck, to the final drizzle of glaze, and homemade pizza dough, showcasing the craft of a local food brand was all about texture and the finer details. These made me so hungry to edit, but they were a super fun to shoot! šŸ•šŸ”„

If you’re in the Prosser, WA area, be sure to check them out! They’re usually at Cork and Taps by DC and also they do weddings!

Strip away the action shots, and rodeo becomes so much deeper. At The American, my job was to capture the raw emotion behind the scenes, the quiet, honest moments that usually go unseen. Even working our own stock behind the chutes my whole life, I thought I knew this world inside and out. But I’d never experienced it from this perspective.

Behind the scenes was a world of comebacks. With $2 million on the line, every emotion was magnified: retired legends making one last run beside their sons, athletes pushing past brutal injuries, or deep personal tragedy. Parents squeezed their kids’ hands with a quick prayer before a run, while contestants families held their breath in a massive stadium built for MLB crowds.

Somewhere between the white knuckled prayers, the hard earned comebacks, and the weight of what was on the line, I caught myself holding my breath for them too.

The ride or run tells one story, but the behind the scenes tells the rest. What an honor to capture these and what an unforgettable time at The American Rodeo.

Right when I was taking the ring shot in the alfalfa field, Trenton’s dad happened to fly over in his plane just in time for a few quick photos. Cue us waving, hollering, and hyperventilating so we wouldn’t miss the shot, all while I prayed and we cackled over the ā€œwhat ifsā€ if I lost her ring in the alfalfa field…

Just young farm kids in love. I really had fun with these, especially the ring shots. I’ll be dreaming of these for quite a while.

Congratulations to Makayla and Trenton. She was once one of my seniors and now, her engagement session. Wishing you both all the love and joy. šŸ’šŸŒ±šŸšœ
