Moondust -
Painted in moonlight and sprinkled with stardust. ✨🌙 There’s something magical about the way the world feels at midnight. Are you a night owl or a morning person?

I took these for a fried in a light sprinkle towards the end of the blue hour. The idea was to have a dark background so the focus was on the Clair, the horse and Kayla not shown here ;) . I will post the ones with Kayla in my portrait profile.

The shot - I used my Nikon Z810 paired with my Nikkor Z 50mm 1.2. I used a Godox 300 and soft box to add fill.

Vortex over Kartchner Caverns - This image is a single 30-minute exposure, centered on Polaris, creating a nearly perfect circular star-trail pattern above the hill that shelters the caverns.

A quiet desert night at Kartchner Caverns State Park gave me the perfect chance to capture one of my favorite subjects — the slow, graceful rotation of the Earth. I loved the idea of positioning Polaris directly over the caverns and I was happy when I found an angle to get that shot.

Sunset at Kartchner Caverns State Park
The campground at Karthner is a beautiful campground. There are many hiking trails for you to enjoy when you are not touring the cave.

I recently completed a photography project at Kartchner Caverns State Park, capturing everything from desert sunsets and night skies to the remarkable formations inside the caverns during a special photo tour.

My nephew wanted to watch and take photos of the sunrise over the lake so we headed down about 5am to locate this place. It was too cloudy to get much color but it was beautiful just the same.

Wrapped up the day with my nephew on the trail, chasing the last light as it painted these peaks in shades of blue and gold. There’s something about watching fog flowing through the mountains at sunset that is peaceful to me. I love being able to share these times with my nephews or niece.

Caught the tail end of the fog on my way up the Glassford Summit Trail this morning. I reached the top a little later than planned, but the timing worked out—just enough lingering fog to watch the sun burn it off over Prescott Valley and Prescott. Almost 5 miles and about 1,000 feet of gain, and totally worth it for those views and a few shots I’m excited to share.
