Posting this on Facebook first! I finally got around to editing my northern lights photo from a few weeks ago. Every now and then, with photography, I capture an image and think "wow this is one of my best" before I even upload it to my laptop. This image is one of them! For a long time, I struggled with doing night time photography. Its a total 360° compared to daytime. Couple years ago, my good friend Bryan Snider helped me with practicing night shots. To this day, I still remember everything he said, and things to do prior to taking night shots, and I do these things every time and it's helped tremendously. I have never had the chance to shoot the northern lights before. For one, I live in Arizona and two, I haven't seen them in probably 20 years, wayyy before photography was part of my life.
A few weeks ago when the aurora borealis was visible from Arizona, I knew I had to take this rare opportunity. I'm super happy I did, because I captured my best night time photo ever, and probably one of my best overall photos I've ever taken! This was taken at Watson Lake in Prescott. I dont have a name for this image yet but I hope you enjoy this photo as much as I do!
