I'd be lying if I told you the last couple of months haven't been a period of self doubt, health frustrations and just an emotional roller coaster second guessing everything that I have built and the direction I am headed in this industry. The industry is changing, immensely. It's not a complaint in saying so, just a statement. What was once an outlet for showing off your art and your heart has become a performative act... To see who can recreate the latest trend, who can go viral with the newest reel, who can pitch the best deal for the least.

It's been a juggling act managing the two full time jobs of being a mother, and the job of creating and running this beautiful business of mine, and learning the song and dance between the two. The last two weeks I decided to fully lean into the friendships I am so blessed to have in my life, and in return I feel such a clearer direction with where I'm headed. It also all finally clicked, the way this business has truly worked in, and blessed, my life... In the deepest and most meaningful ways 🤍 I'm so grateful to those who have trusted me with their milestones, who have become so much more than just clients and who have let me pour the love in my heart into my work.

I'm going to be leaning a lot harder into the soul of this work rather than trying to keep up with the industry's expectations as of late. Less performing, more being. Less performing, more creating. Just like I encourage my clients on their wedding days, I'm going to take my own advice 🤍 For those who have supported me and trusted me with documenting their lives during their seasons, thank you for being here 🤍

I’m so excited to finally share something that has been quietly living on my heart for the last year, something I’ve only recently found the words and clarity for.

Introducing In Their Presence; an ongoing documentary series honoring horses, the land, the people who care for them, and the quiet space between it all.

From barns along the East Coast to ranches and outfitters out West, this project is rooted in presence over performance; In the stories, relationships, and way of life that exist beyond anything transactional. Not manufactured moments, but honest ones. The dust, movement, stillness, emotion, and connection that cannot be staged between these amazing creatures.

You’ll begin seeing horses intertwined amongst the weddings and portrait work here more often, not as a departure from what I do, but as an extension of it. Weddings will always remain at the heart of my work and storytelling, but over time I’ve felt myself pulled toward creating more expansively... Blending documentary storytelling with landscape, animal portraiture, and the places that shape us.

For a long time, I've felt caught between worlds creatively. This project has become the bridge between them... A space where artistry, instinct, emotion, and observation can exist together more freely and more honestly.

And with this being the Year of the Horse, it feels especially fitting that this would be the season carrying us closer toward the life we’ve long dreamed about out West, and toward the kind of work that feels most aligned with who I’m becoming as both an artist and a person.

I’m so excited to watch this project bloom into what it was always meant to become 🤍
