I'm so excited to announce that my book Into the Lost World has been accepted into the 2026 Louisiana Book Festival! And I'll actually be one of the presenters and signing books during the event on Oct. 31!

I'll be sharing more later - but if you're in South Louisiana, I'd love to have you come hear my presentation and talk about the amazing Louisiana swamps!

P.S. This 160-page, full-color book costs just $29.99! See the comments for more information.

"Driftless Faith" — Happy Sunday! I passed the beautiful Basswood Union Church in the Driftless region of Wisconsin as storm clouds roiled overhead. I love the Victorian architecture of the church, and those old tombstones aded to the mode of the scene.

The church has served the small community since 1895, but the cemetery was laid out in 1861.

Morning Veil — It's always gratifying when someone chooses to purchase one of my prints to hang on their wall. This is my latest sale, and the customer will receive a 45x30-inch metal print of this amazing morning scene from deep in the swamps.

It's always amazing to see the Spanish moss turn golden as the first light day seems to collect and hang in the tendrils.

I haven't stopped smiling since receiving the order.

Oh, and this beautiful image graces page 44 of my new photo book titled Into the Lost World: A Journey into Louisiana's Bayou Country.

Sunrises are constantly changing, from brilliant golds growing from the eastern horizon to vibrant colors splashing across the entire sky just moments before official sunrise.

Today's sunrise view of the Kenosha harbor is from 45 minutes before sunrise, while the photo I shared yesterday was taken minutes before the sun topped the horizon.

Both views are amazing. Both views leave me wanting more. Both views fill my soul with peacefulness, as if I'm getting a peak into the beauty of Heaven.

Beacon of Dawn: Yesterday's sunrise in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was one of the best of the year. I normally hate to have people in my photos, but I love the scale provided by the man watching sunrise.

When the sky exploded in color, the lack of sleep was instantly forgotten. And this photo perfectly captures the peacefulness of the day's beginning, and is the perfect way to infuse your living spaces with the beauty of sunrise over Lake Michigan.

Woke up at 2:50 a.m., and was standing on the shores of Lake Michigan by 4. That’s what it takes to get photos taken others miss.

Can’t wait to work up these images - and some more nice clouds are moving in now.
