Lora Humphreys Photography I am a photographer based in Powhatan, VA, however, I am ready & willing to travel for your special events & milestones.

I specialize in high school and college senior photos, and I am also a concert and event photographer for K95 Richmond Thank you so much for checking out my page! My name is Lora, and I live in Powhatan, VA. My love of photography started at a very young age. As my friends from elementary school can tell you, even at that age, I always carried a camera with me & took pictures of my friends. In hig

h school, I took 4 years of photography classes and then was accepted into the art program at VCU with plans to major in photography. However, after finding out that I would also need to take drawing classes in order to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I quickly decided that I better come up with another plan.... because having an eye for photography doesn't mean that I can draw! :-)

After having my children in 2005 & 2008, my passion for capturing that ONE perfect shot of my kids became an obsession. And by one perfect shot, I mean one perfect shot every single day for most of their lives... whether it be to capture an adorable expression, a cute new outfit, or a major milestone, I capture ALL of it. I've taken hundreds of thousands of shots since my oldest daughter was born! After plastering my own personal shots all over Facebook, I received many requests from friends to photograph their families as well. I started off slowly with family and close friends, but I've been in business now for over 3 years, and I have seen my work grow quite a bit during this time. My goal is to offer affordable photography for ANY occasion to those who need to work within a budget. So, please, take a look around my page, and message me if you'd like to book a session!

A client recently told me she chose me for her senior photos because of my “style,” and I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear that. With so many trends leaning toward darker, moodier edits, I’ve caught myself wondering if I should change my approach. But the truth is, I’ve always loved a bright, airy look… and that’s what feels like ME. Hearing that someone chose me because of that style was such a great reminder that there are still people who love light, joyful, true-to-me images just as much as I do. 🤍🥹

I finally convinced someone to sit in the columns (in her white dress)!!! I had been dying to do this pose! All of the photos that I see in the columns are standing… which are beautiful, but I’m always striving to find different ways to capture campus to keep everyone’s senior photos unique. 😊
