I had so many favorite pictures from this family session it was hard to pick only a few to share on here! I love all of the baby expressions! The beautiful setting at the Historic Whitewood Farm was perfect for one of my favorite baseball families 🥰

Merry Christmas Eve! I can't believe how fast this week has flown! It is such a busy time of year, especially when you have 5 kids! I tried my best this year to remember what each child asked for and took notes to send to parents with their galleries. I have learned over the past 3 years that kids will secretly ask Santa for something that may not be known to anyone else.

Each Santa experience is different for every child which truly makes these sessions unique. Santa had a hard time understanding Kellans name, and it took him a few tries to get it right. He told the boys Mrs. Claus needs to clean out his ears 😂 I think their faces express how funny Santa is, and I loved their handwritten letters!

This duo was so thoughtful and I loved it! Sawyer brought Santa a donut which was thoroughly enjoyed and Scarlett wrote a very detailed letter. I put the letter in my pocket and forgot to hand it back to her during our session, but made sure I took some wonderful images of Santa reading it!

It is the first day of winter and we are dreaming of a white Christmas! Every year the "snow" is a hit with the little ones and I encourage them to have fun with it! It is such a joy watching families grow and this year Goldie met Santa for the first time!

These two brothers met Santa last year and while the oldest one was excited to see him again, the youngest one wasn't too sure how he felt and that's okay! We always want this experience to be positive for kids, and if tears start to fall we stop and improvise so they are comfortable. I think for these 2 their favorite part was the rocks, and they even picked one for Santa! So sweet! We managed to get a smile at the end thanks to sneaky Santa and my son!

All of my Santa galleries were sent out last week and now I can finally take the time to share some more highlights with you! Most of my sessions this year were repeat clients for the 2nd or 3rd year in a row and I can't thank you all enough for your support! I love thinking about how this has become a Christmas tradition for you!

You don't see it but my family helps me prepare for this day, especially my husband Ed. He built the bench, owns the snow decorations, and this year shoveled a ton of rock along the walkway while recovering from a torn bicep tendon. He even served as my IT support and therapist after my sessions wrapped this year because my pictures weren't loading on to my MAC. Good times. Also, my oldest son, Cam, loves to help during the sessions and made a baby who wasn't too sure about Santa smile for a picture. He isn't old enough yet to be my assistant but his future with Amanda Kozak Photography sure looks promising!

I hope you all enjoy this week with your families and take time to revel in the magical moments of the season!

I know I say this every year, but I love listening to all of the conversations between Santa and the kids! These two girls loved talking about science which made me so happy because I love science too! Also, Santa told them they could teach the elves how to dance and help train the reindeer with their horseback riding skills!

Santa is coming to town this weekend and we are getting excited here at Amanda Kozak Photography! Those reindeer need to slow down though when they pull into Powhatan!

These chillier sessions make for the best images capturing the true love families have while they try and stay warm! I have gotten to know this amazing family at the baseball fields and I must say they clean up nice! My oldest son is sitting here with me before bed and said "wow, they have a lot of blue eyes in this family!" Beautiful people inside and out!
