Birds are some of my favorite wildlife subjects. This rough legged hawk miraculously found a place to roost temporarily at the top of these fragile branches.
These birds generally appear in this northwest corner of Wyoming in the Winter and depart again when the weather warms in the Spring. They come in many different colors and this one was a beauty!

Sometimes your best photo of the day is not what you expect. You may have headed to the mountains to find bears, great scenery or that bull elk you have been seeking, but the simple flower in a spot of light in the forest turns out to be the treasure of the moment. A bit of quiet solitude in a tiny flower is the peace and solitude you may need that day. Often seeking and finding the little details is just what you need.
