As moms, we’re usually the ones behind the camera capturing every milestone, every tiny detail, every memory we never want to forget. We spend so much time documenting the moments that we’re rarely in them ourselves.

That’s why I love being a San Diego family photographer.

Because I understand how important it is for moms to exist in the memories, not just preserve them. You deserve photos where your children can see the way you held them, loved them, looked at them. Years from now, I want your kids to have countless images to look back on and instantly feel just how deeply they were loved by you.

In honor of Memorial Day, I share one of my favorite photos I took in 2014. This is 4lb baby Khai wearing the dog tags of his uncle Pfc. Wilfred Ballard (1982-2003), a hero who served in Operation Iraqi freedom. The moment we put his uncle’s dog tags on, he smiled and it was such a beautiful moment to have captured ❤️
