I have never liked color splash(here is a bad example- http://www.squidoo.com/photoartcolorsplash). Not that colorsplash itself is ugly. When done right, I actually think it can be beautiful. HOWEVER(in my opinion- dont hate), colorsplash done wrong actually draws your eyes away from the subject and makes the picture just look ....what's the word I am looking for..... tacky. So I never did them-except for messing around in photoshop- until recently. I provided some BW prints to a couple of high school seniors. But then, they wanted one of the images changed so that they are in color but the rest in black and white (ie colorsplash). "You want me to do waaat?" In general, I would have just told them they didnt know what they were talking about, and the images look better in BW. However, I know that these kids are probably "cooler" than I am. So I did(sigh)..... (they did buy the picture though). TGIF everyone!
