Meet Mia... a Belgian Malinois I got to shoot a few weeks ago. Also known as "fur missiles," and after this session I understand exactly why. 😅

These dogs are no joke. They're one of the most popular police and military dog breeds in the world right now, even ahead of German Shepherds in demand. Intelligent, athletic, and driven doesn't even cover it... some of these dogs need 90 minutes or more of real exercise a day, not just a walk around the block.

They're amazing dogs... if you have the time and energy to give them. If you don't, you may want to look at a different breed.

Mia's still a youngster, well socialized, and just wants to play (camera included).

Sneak peek from Alfredo & Milkshake's session at Tubbs Hill 🐾

We planned it as a hiking adventure, but dog day at the beach was so much more fun. Wake chasing, sandy paws, the whole thing.

Sometimes the best sessions are the ones that go a little off script.

I always share sneak peeks as wall previews instead of just a straight photo. It's a small thing, but I want you picturing these moments somewhere you'll actually see them every day, not just scrolling past on a screen.

Traveling with dogs definitely adds an extra layer of planning. Picking the right hotel, limiting your excursions and packing all their things...but they only get a dozen or so summers to enjoy the adventures. So we'll always choose to take them wherever we can, even if it takes a little longer to get there

Frankie was much more interested in investigating every smell in that forest than sitting still on a tree stump for me.

Understandable. There was a lot going on.

But he humored me for a second, rubber ducky tie and all, and looked so handsome doing it.

The moment was all wiggles and forest smells and his friends running around. The shot is this. Both are so him.
