I had the honor of photographing the Women's Flag Football Kickoff Event at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, where Brian Hoyer and the Patriots joined nearly 150 athletes from 18 Maine girls flag football teams.

It was a day full of energy, smiles and big moments, and a celebration of how much girls' flag football is growing here in Maine. Thank you to Maine Girls Flag Football for having me!

MGFF hit the field at Saint Joseph's College as St. Joe's celebrated the launch of its brand new flag football program.

Big welcome to Coach Kayla Pierce, who's leading the new St. Joe's team. Former Patriots QB Brian Hoyer stopped by to talk with the players, too. Then the girls did what they do best: fast feet, flying catches, full-out dives and nonstop smiles.

So fun to be on the sidelines for this one. Flag football in Maine is just getting started!

Goalies spend most of the game waiting and the rest of it flying. This is the part that happens too fast to remember and lasts forever once it is a photograph.

There’s nothing quite like game day.

The speed. The intensity. The split-second plays you almost miss while you’re watching from the sidelines.

That’s what I love about sports photography. Capturing the moments that show the heart of the game, the determination on the field, and the memories these athletes and their families will get to keep long after the season is over.

A few favorites from this weeks game.

This is the reason I shoot sports. The ball is already in the net and the celebration is pure. Reach out if you want your athlete's season captured like this.

Head up, ball at her feet, already thinking two passes ahead. Composure is hard to describe to someone and easy to show them.

Both feet off the ground and the follow through still going. Ninety minutes gives you thousands of moments. My job is knowing which one is the story.
