The Gorge is coming back. I spent this morning with a volunteer work crew in Ainsworth State Park. The damage here is best-case-scenario - a cleared underbrush but intact canopy. Most of the big trees will live. It still stings though. There’s a lot of work to do. But if you look for them you’ll see little signs that life keeps chugging away.
PS: Most of these areas are still off-limits unless you’re with an official crew. BUT, Ainsworth State Park could reopen as early as next month! In the meantime, learn how you can help support this work at trailkeepersoforegon.org. @ Ainsworth State Park
