It’s been two years since you had family photos done, you’re feeling like it’s a hard time to celebrate and be happy. Our neighbors are having a hard time putting food on their tables, it doesn’t feel like a “celebration” time and holidays are hard as we watch people close to us struggle for everyday necessities, let alone things that are “extra” for our kids. If you don’t know my story, hi - I’m Lanna J. I’m a photographer in this area, and two years ago the husband I loved, cared for, and had children for left one random Friday and never returned. He still hasn’t seen our daughter since then. She’s almost 3 now. My daughter and I are doing EXCEPTIONALLY well now. I picked up the pieces, won my divorce, and got full custody and re-branded my photography business and got back every piece of gear he stole from us (of course the only items he stole were my photography gear. He just couldn’t BARE to watch me be successful without him!) Well, turns out that didn’t work out for him because I’m one of the most successful elopement photographers in the PNW now.
If you’re confused on why I’m telling you that story, it’s because I want it to be a reminder that you never know what your neighbors or women in your community are going through… until you ask. you show up. you go outside of your own bubble a little bit.
So this year, instead of just doing my normal fall mini sessions… I wanted to do them in a way that thought of those single mothers, the families barely making it by, the foster families and adopted parents who took on children to love, only to be continuously reminded that this government and country is not supporting real families right now. I don’t have any “good solution” to that, but I can do what I can do within my business. If you book a mini session with me this year, $40 will be going towards adopting a family in need this year. I will be personally purchasing and sending costumes to families who apply and let me know they need this assistance this year. This may not seem like a huge deal to you, but to families who have to choose between a new costume and a happy child or food that week… it’s a huge deal.
I only have six spots left, and I’m hoping to get them booked by the end of this week so I have enough time to get these families sent costumes before Halloween. If you want to ADOPT-A-FAMILY for Halloween this year, I have some room still! You can also seperately donate, if you don’t need photos but want me to help connect you with somebody in need this year. ❤

I cannot help everyone, but I can do my best and that has to be good enough right now. It just has to be.
