Aka Crew Chief Earl is geared up for September!
After months of research and careful recreation, I'm excited to debut my new Vietnam Era Bell Helicopter factory mechanic coveralls at Soaring by the Sea this September.
Inspired by the men and women who built and maintained the legendary Bell UH-1 "Huey" during the Vietnam War, this impression represents the skilled factory mechanics whose dedication helped keep one of history's most iconic helicopters rolling off the production line. Every detail—from the period-correct Bell factory patches and name tapes to the authentic industrial styling—has been chosen to honor the hardworking people behind the aircraft.
I can't wait to step into the role of AKA Crew Chief, share the history of Bell Helicopter's wartime production, and talk with visitors about the incredible engineering, craftsmanship, and stories that made the Huey a symbol of a generation.
If you're planning to attend Soaring by the Sea this September, be sure to stop by, say hello, and take a closer look at this new living history impression. I'm looking forward to meeting fellow aviation enthusiasts, veterans, historians, and photographers for what promises to be an outstanding event.
See you in September!
