A lot of photographers show up with a camera and a smile. I show up with a plan.

Here’s everything I carry to every elopement, and why most of it has nothing to do with photography.

Because your day deserves more than someone just pressing a shutter button.

What’s one thing on this list that surprised you?

A moment for the elopement I shot at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardenens💐

The bride and groom + a giant troll? Yes please!

Would you want your ceremony at a landmark location or somewhere more hidden and private?

Let’s chat about my new Portland City Hall Elopement Package while I make PJ a matcha!

The short version is that I kept photographing couples who chose City Hall almost as an afterthought and then had the most incredible day in the city afterward and I thought, this deserves its own thing. Its own package, its own planning support, its own celebration built around what Portland actually has to offer. A walkable city full of incredible food and drink and architecture and harbor light.

The package is coming soon and if you want to be the first to know when it drops, my DMs are open!

Would a dedicated City Hall elopement package interest you? What would you want it to include?

DM me PORTLAND to get on the early access list!

Pssst…watch til the end for some fun outtakes 😂

My husband and I have always loved flowers, so when we used to live in an apartment we would go to local greenhouses to walk around with an iced coffee and look at, smell, and enjoy the flowers.

Memorial Day weekend seems to be the best time of year where the greenhouses are the fullest and everything there is in bloom and looks so beautiful.

It has become a tradition of ours to go on MDW and now that we have a house, it’s even more fun because we can pick out a new plant or two to add to our landscaping.

Last he grabbed a wagon “just in case” and we ended up leaving with $300 worth of plants. So THIS year we had to give ourselves a pep talk and implement a “no wagon” rule. We still ended up leaving with 3 packs of seedlings, it was just harder to carry them around 💀

Do you have any traditions on Memorial Day Weekend?

The guest list kept growing. The venue had a 150-person minimum. The Saturday they wanted was already gone.

So they scrapped it.

Here is what their day actually looked like instead:

7:00am - Coffee at their Airbnb. No alarm panic, no bridal suite chaos.
9:00am - Ceremony, just the two of them on a rocky shoreline with the Atlantic at their backs and the light still soft.
11:00am - A slow walk. No schedule to hit, nowhere to rush to.
1:00pm - Lunch at a spot they actually like, not a banquet hall with a prix fixe.
Evening - Drive home as a married couple.

No seating charts. No catering minimums. No coordinating 150 people’s Saturday around a venue’s availability window.

Just a day that was completely, entirely theirs.

This is what I help couples build.

The timeline, the locations, the little details that make it feel like *your* day and not a wedding you survived.

If you have been staring at a guest list that does not feel like you anymore, what would your version of this day actually look like?

I get asked constantly where to elope in Maine and my go-to answer is that the Southern Maine coast has more variety within a twenty mile radius than most people realize.

Rocky bluffs and historic lighthouses in Cape Elizabeth. The walkable, photogenic streets of the Old Port in Portland. Quiet marsh light in Scarborough that feels completely removed from everything. The mouth of the S**o River at Biddeford Pool where the ocean meets the estuary and the birds are always doing something dramatic.

I know all of these places at different times of day in different seasons and I love helping couples figure out which one fits their day. Swipe through for the full list!

DM me your vibe and I will match you to your perfect Southern Maine spot🤗

Happy Mother’s Day!

And to every couple who has been quietly scared to have that conversation with their family: in my experience, once the day actually happens and the photos land, the people who love you most are just happy you were happy.

You are allowed to choose a day that feels completely like you. The people who love you will come around. They always do!

Your Southern Maine Elopement Day Itinerary⬇️

7am: Ceremony at Portland Headlight as the sun clears the Atlantic

9am: Coffee and pastries from one of the bakeries in the Old Port while you walk and let it sink in that you are married

11am: Portraits through the cobblestone streets because the light in the Old Port at mid-morning is genuinely incredible

1pm: Oysters and champagne at a harbor spot because you just got married and you deserve to celebrate

3pm: Afternoon portraits somewhere tucked away and green

7pm: Golden hour on the Eastern Promenade with Casco Bay turning pink behind you

That is just an example of what a Southern Maine elopement day could be - let’s tailor it to your exact vision! I build custom day timelines for every couple I work with.

Which stop on this itinerary would you be most excited about?

Fort Williams sits on a rocky coastal bluff with two historic lighthouses and views of the open Atlantic that genuinely stop you mid-sentence.

It is twenty minutes from downtown Portland. No permit drama. No four-hour hike. Just you, the ocean, the light, and a setting that looks like it belongs in a coffee table book.

This is the kind of location that makes your out-of-state guests lose their minds a little.

I photograph down here all the time and it never gets old. If a coastal Maine elopement is on your radar, this one is worth putting on the list!

Did you know Maine has over 60 lighthouses? Which one would you want to get married near?
