I really hate the idea that nice things are somehow reserved for people who can comfortably afford them.

You deserve the pretty coffee. The good shoes. The handmade thing from the little shop you’ve been eyeing. The meal that isn’t just the cheapest option on the menu.

Being on a budget doesn’t make you less deserving of quality. And choosing something affordable doesn’t mean you should have to settle for something that feels cheap, disposable, or made without care.

There’s room in this world for nice things that regular people can actually enjoy. ❤️

And honestly, I think we should stop being so weird about wanting nice things. You’re allowed to like pretty stuff. 😂

Pink is a color. It does not belong to girls, just like blue does not belong to boys. My son can wear pink, purple, flowers, hearts, dinosaurs, glitter, or literally whatever else I think is cute.

He’s a baby. He doesn’t need a gender rulebook for his wardrobe. 😂

I’m tired of pretending colors have genders. Let kids wear the cute clothes. 💗

Keeping busy over here. 😂🖤

There’s always something happening behind the scenes at Dark Ideals Decor, and right now it’s lots of tiny paper pieces slowly turning into something pretty.

These are still very much a work in progress, but I’m already loving this soft little color palette. 🥹💗💜

Running a small handmade shop means there is basically always something to cut, fluff, glue, design, package, or rethink approximately 14 times before I’m happy with it. 😂

And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why would I make cute stuff and NOT use it in my own house?

Honestly, this is probably the most accurate representation of what happens when you own a decor business. You start looking around your house thinking, “Hmm… that wall needs something.” 👀

And then suddenly you’re decorating your bedroom with your own products.

Sometimes I look in the mirror and think…

Damn. That’s really me. 😂

Like, this is the person who somehow became a mom, started businesses, survived approximately 700 life crises, and still has absolutely no idea what she’s doing half the time.

And honestly? I think that’s okay.

I spent a lot of years thinking I needed to have some perfectly figured out version of myself waiting at the finish line. Turns out there really isn’t one. I’m just constantly becoming someone new, learning things, screwing things up, trying again, making things, raising tiny humans, and occasionally standing in front of a dirty bathroom mirror wondering how the hell I got here.

But I like who I’m becoming.

Even if she’s a little chaotic. 😂

Anyway, what’s something about your life that you never expected would be part of your story? 👀 I want to hear them.
