It’s construction season, folks, so please stay alert and drive safe on Maine roads, especially where workers are present.
National Work Zone Awareness Week was April 20-24, and we were proud to work with Burgess Advertising & Marketing, MaineDOT and the Maine Turnpike Authority to create a suite of short videos featuring the faces behind the orange cones.
Over two days at our studio in Portland and at the MaineDOT in Augusta, we filmed with 30 folks from both state agencies, the state police, municipalities, utility companies, and subcontractors.
By highlighting the personal accounts of roadside close calls (like the one from Dalton of the MaineDOT featured here), the videos aim to inspire compassion and a safety mindset in drivers.
Our team was personally touched and amazed by the stories; and the general public’s response from the campaign reveals a similar reaction, garnering over 161,300 views, 3,200 likes, and 675 shares across the Maine DOT social media platforms, as well as hundreds of signatures on the Work Zone Safety Pledge.
No Umbrella Media is proud to have done the filming and editing on the project, and huge thanks to Burgess, the MaineDOT and the MTA for the collaboration.
Please drive safe everyone!
