I don't know how many more ways I can say just how magical the PNW is in fall, so I'll let these photos from my shoot with Paola PiBi speak for themselves.

Fall in the PNW means quickly fading and changing light, especially with the seasonal rain.

We had finished up our shoot and the gals were warming up and drying off when I looked out and saw the most beautiful golden glow through the autumn leaves and storm clouds and yelled "I NEED someone willing to go be a drowned rat RIGHT NOW cause we've got about 3 minutes to grab a couple frames!"

The first and last images are what resulted and those are the frames that make me so thankful for clients willing to play along with my crazy antics!

One of the best parts of shooting in old growth forest, especially in the rainy fall, is just how much the light changes as it filters through the trees during golden hour.

Anna's sassiness and how the light brought that out even more demanded some slight underexposure and moodiness in how I shot and I could not love her set more.

Sometimes you know the moment your shutter clicks that this is THE ONE and you wouldn't care if every other frame from the whole shoot had missed focus or didn't turn out.

This was that moment. I've never stopped and uploaded files in the middle of a shoot, but I HAD to see this on my big screen while she changed costumes and I was not disappointed.

I got to snag these beauties who flew in from overseas for Daturacon while they were here and it was such a beautiful, rainy, cold, perfect day!

I had the opportunity to play with these two in the rose gardens in Portland last month. They showed up with a wagon full of props and a willingness to "go climb that tree and do tree things" and it was such a blast!

SF Bay area!!! I'll be in the bay tentatively November 3-7 (dates are flexible due to demand) and am opening up slots for photoshoots and offering a discounted rate!

$200 for one hour of on location shoot time with 10 fully hand edited, hi res files with print and self promotion rights released. I'm also throwing in a complimentary personal gallery app to make sharing and downloading your photos easier!

I adore working with dancers, but there's something so awesome about shooting a "normal" in a way they've never seen themselves! Especially when they trust your vision and let you do their makeup and styling and then they just NAIL it as soon as you sit them under the skylight!

I cannot get over the absolute magic that happened tonight! Including me ripping out blackberries because they were impeding the perfect lean-on tree and trying to gracefully pretend I wasn't ridiculously close to sliding down a steep embankment while getting the perfect framing of some moss-covered trees.

I seriously have the absolute best job in the world.

This was such a fun little experiment into a slightly different style when it comes to chasing light, but it absolutely paid off. Although, having such a stunning subject never hurts!
