Theme: Lights at Night

Kinda cheating again with this theme, as I took this last year during the Comet Neowise event, but I never posted it so it's still new. Lol. I wasn't sure it was post worthy, but I figure, as usual, something is better than nothing. Right?

Anyways, this will always be one of my favorite experiences. Before I went, I knew I wanted to create this image. It's based off a character design by one of my best friends, called Starlites, from a video game he's working on. ❤ It's going to be the best RPG created when it finally launches, you heard it here first. ❤

This is super different from what I'd normally create and is pretty outside my comfort zone, but I've realized my work has been kinda stagnant and too... I don't know... "uniform"? Sometimes you just have to switch it up and hope for the best I suppose. 🙂

I feel like I had a lot more to say but I'm just not great with writing these things out. 😣

Also, how long until it gets Zucc’d. 🧐

Theme: Monochrome

It's not your typical monochrome image, but I try to think a little outside the box with these themes. It's been a rough go, with being creative, but I'm happy I'm at least trying. ❤ I wasn't originally even planning on using this image for this theme, or at all, but I promised I wouldn't have any excuses, and I've already used 4382094 of them, so I'm well over my allotment. So, I'm pushing forward, even if it isn't 100% what I envisioned.

This is probably one of my new favorite shooting spots, although the loggers would probably prefer I find another place. Luckily it's pretty empty as far as seeing other people there, I've only ever seen a couple logging trucks and regular cars drive around, and the area is MASSIVE. It does lead to some trail heads, so at least I know I'm not entirely trespassing. Anyways, I'm hoping to shoot a lot here, it's a pretty varied landscape and it's really inspired me. ❤ The gears are definitely turning.

This particular day was also INSANELY sunny out, and it made it hard not only to shoot, but edit even. Haha. This is the best I could do.

I know the idea isn't super original or anything, but it's my take on it anyways. It was pretty difficult to shoot, but it actually turned out pretty close to how I envisioned it would. I was pretty nervous about shooting it, only because the materials used were time sensitive and not something I could keep around forever. Ha. Also, gluing a real snake to my face was an interesting experience, as she had a patch on her stomach that, while I was sanitizing her, was VERY soft, and I thought I was going to rip her open on accident. Or that when I removed her from my face, her skin would detach and there would be a whole mess. But, I was careful and she's as beautiful as ever. ❤ Now she's outside to finish her process, and once she's done I'll frame her. ❤

I do wish my framing was a little different, but I'm still pretty happy with this.

Theme: My Happy Place

Okay, so I'm super cheating with this, as this was actually taken several years ago, right before I moved out here to Oregon almost seven years ago, but I've only been to one abandoned house since I've moved out here. 3 I never released this for some reason, so it's still "new". Lol.

But, with regards to the theme, abandoned houses/buildings have always been my happy place, and this particular adventure to Gary, IN with some of my best friends was one of my absolute favorites. This was at one of the local hospitals, and directly inspired by the 1963 movie "Shock Corridor". (If you haven't seen it, I do recommend checking it out if you can find it)

So anyways, I don't have a whole lot to say, other than I'm finally catching up and have several images to share for my project. There is hope. I'm currently recovering from Covid, so I have lots of time to create I suppose. Yayayay.

Theme: Opposites

I know it's hard to tell, but I'm wearing a vintage WWII nurse's cloak. Haha. I wish I had the full outfit, but I'm working with what I've got I guess. And I wish I had a better poison bottle, but... well same. The collection is still a baby and growing slowly. Ha.

But anyways, I've been sitting on this for several days, just couldn't decide on an edit so it's being posted incredibly late. Oof. I'm getting there with staying on track though. It's a slow process. :P

I tried to think a little outside the box, without going too far outside. I wanted it to be a slightly less obvious take on the theme but still noticeable. I'm not 100% thrilled with how it all came out, and I'm hoping to revisit this idea on a bigger scale and really create something worthwhile. But, it's a no excuses year, so I'm just happy to be creating honestly.
