After giving birth to my first child, my beautiful son, I experienced postpartum depression. He was perfection but I was in a dark and confusing place. With a lot of support and patience, I got through it. When I picked up my camera, I felt human again and it was my sacred creative place. Now, I am honored to photograph families from a space of compassion, understanding, and no judgements. I believe there has to be community within motherhood--it's too much to bear on our own. I am here to show you how incredibly beautiful you are now, no matter how chaotic motherhood is.

It’s when parents tell me their kids had so much fun they want to do it again.

It’s when a mom tells me she actually loves photos of herself.

It’s when a family tells me they had the best evening together, and now they have the photos to go with it.

I get to meet the coolest families, watch their kids grow, and be invited back year after year.

And that means so much more to me than just a pretty picture. (But I REALLY love that too!)

Proof that I occasionally get in front of the camera with my own family.

For anyone new around here, hi! I’m the mom of two behind Jaime Bugbee Photography.

I spend a lot of time getting to know the families I photograph, so I thought it’d be fun to turn the tables.

Ask me anything! Family photos, parenting, what actually happens during a session, or anything else you’re curious about.

Nothing’s off limits. Well, almost nothing. 😂

This is what a Columbia River Gorge family photo session looks like with me.

We play. We explore. The kids get to move, be silly, and just be themselves. There’s no pressure to sit still or smile at the camera.

Storytelling family photography is about documenting your family as they are right now…the personalities, the connection, and all those little things your kids do that you swear you’ll remember forever.

And adding a family film brings another piece of their childhood back to life. Their voices. Their laughs. The way they run into your arms.

Because as a parent, I know how fast all of this changes.

If you’re looking for something fun + family-friendly to do this weekend, put the Hood River Fruit Loop on your list. 🍎

We did it last weekend and it’s seriously one of our favorite fall traditions. My kids talk about it for MONTHS.

Fruit picking, pears + apples, wineries, c***r, b**r, great food, snacks, and some of the prettiest views in the Gorge.

The Gorge White House is always our #1 stop…we love it there. This year we also stopped at Mt. Hood Winery and the fruit company across the parking lot, which was so cool. Lots of history, and my kids were very into the John Deeres out front. 🚜

We popped into a few other wineries along the way and just took our time exploring.

And with a beautiful weekend coming up, this is such a fun day trip.
