"The Portland Saturday Market is an outdoor arts and crafts market in Portland, Oregon. It is the largest continuously operated outdoor market in the United States."
It is about to close for the season but will open back up in March. I am going to do a Kickstarter campaign that will hopefully allow me to buy a few things that I need to set up a space next spring. I have a table and an Ipad to accept payments. But there is a short list of things I need to properly set up. Table drape, canopy (it rains a lot in Portland), business cards, a few signs, etc. I also would like to re-activate my old Bento website and add commerce to it so I can sell online as well. I've sold a handfull of prints on eBay but the hits are far and few between. And I have to order prints as they sell which aren't as cost effective as they could be.
The biggest thing is that I would like the backing to purchase an inventory of prints of multiple sizes that I would have at the ready for the market, eBay and my website. I have the storage space, I just need the product.
I have had multiple people interested in buying my work (and have bought) but it's always a "how much?" Having an inventory would actually allow me to have set prices for prints and also make them much more affordable for my buyers and myself.
But beyond all this is as to when you, if you were to give to the campaign would be the best time for me to activate it. It's the holiday season and people are spending their money on gifts and not on something that they would get their print/s in February at this point (Kickstarter campaign would end at the end of Jan at this point). Would it be more prudent to wait until January and end it in March right before the market re-opens?
