This year's fall colours were taken in North Portland around Emanuel Hospital and Boise-Eliot school. Carole, even though you moved, I thought you would like these. Fall is truly my favourite time of year, and temping up in that area, I was inspired to come back and do some photos before all the pretty colours went away.

I went with a MeetUp group of photographers to the Portland Taco Festival at the old Portland Meadows horse race track. For all the hype, the event itself was an overrated disappointment -a very small collection of food trucks in 100F weather (with forest fire smog) and extremely long lines. The luchadore and chihuahua beauty contest did provide for some trite entertainment, and I did pop off a few interesting photos.

An attempt at a little amateur photojournalism to document the Trump protests and counter protests in downtown Portland, OR. Sadly, while I support the Constitutional right of free speech, I have to say little constructive was accomplished. Mutual insults were hurled by both opposing sides, mob tensions were raised on both sides, an officer assaulted, and the police riot squad closed down the park.
