The Pacific Northwest really knows how to lay on the charm when it knows you're packing your bags. It’s like the PNW saw my moving boxes and decided to turn the 'Main Character' energy all the way up just to make this goodbye a little bit harder.

Spending the morning at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm felt like the perfect love letter to this landscape. Those endless rows of color, and beautiful blue skys represent the kind of ethereal magic that first made me pick up a camera. From the vintage pink tractor to the way the mountain sits on the horizon, it’s hard not to get sentimental.

I’m officially trading evergreen trees for Oklahoma plains soon, but I’ll be carrying these views with me. Raven Moon is moving toward a new chapter in Central Oklahoma, but a part of my soul will always be tucked between these tulip rows.

What’s one local spot that always feels like home to you, no matter how many times you visit?

Some breathtaking shots from wooden shoe tulip farm. It's hard to imagine in a few short weeks we'll be embarking on a new journey in the OKC area. If you're from that area, we'd love to connect with you and hear your story!

Who decided that 'romantic' has to mean standing in a golden field of tall grass?

I’m officially bringing Raven Moon Photography to Central Oklahoma, and if this session with Chris and Amber Brooks is any indication of what’s to come, things are about to get a lot more interesting. We ditched the traditional outdoor backdrops for the neon glow and joystick clicking of FlashBack RetroPub OKC.

There’s something so much more honest about capturing love over a round of Pac-Man and some pixelated nostalgia. It’s gritty, it’s vibrant, and it’s unapologetically them. If you've been waiting for a sign to stop playing it safe with your portraits, consider this it. I'm ready to document your real life: whether it’s in a dark arcade, a favorite booth, or somewhere even more 'you.'

Central Oklahoma, I’m ready for you. More of this incredible duo is coming soon, but for now, I have to ask:

What’s one place that feels totally like you, even if it might seem like a 'weird' spot for a photoshoot?

There is a specific kind of chaos that comes with a night market: the smell of kettle corn, the hum of local chatter, and that frantic energy of everyone trying to see everything at once. But even in the middle of the Canby First Thursday bustle, there is always a pocket of quiet if you’re willing to slow down enough to see it.

Last night was one of those times. Between the small business booths and open shop doors, I found these little blooming moments tucked away in the shadows. It’s that spring magic we wait for all winter: not the loud, bright kind, but the soft, moody, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind that feels like a secret just for you.

Portland and its neighbors always have a way of surprising me when I think I’ve seen it all. There’s something deeply soulful about a flower catching the light just right while the world rushes past.

What’s the best quiet thing you’ve discovered in the middle of a crowded event lately?

Most people walk right past a daisy like it's just the background noise of the floral world.

We're not most people. 🖤

Swipe to see what happens when you stop seeing a flower as a "w**d" and start seeing it as a study in texture, shadow, and quiet grace.

This is the exact energy we bring to every session : hunting for those small, blink-and-you-miss-it details that make your story uniquely yours. Sometimes the most "ordinary" moments are the most cinematic. You just have to change your perspective.

The world is pretty loud, but there's so much art in the quiet bits.

What's the most underrated beautiful thing on your street? 👇

Most people see a bird; I see a tiny, feathered forest guardian who definitely knows all the forest's best-kept secrets.

There’s something about the Red-breasted Sapsucker that feels less like a backyard visitor and more like a living spark against the damp, moody PNW green. This little guy spent his morning carving out a masterpiece in the moss, looking like he stepped straight out of a Grimm’s fairytale.

No bright filters or "perfect" lighting needed here. The forest is already doing the heavy lifting with its heavy shadows and silver-mist vibes. It’s moody, it’s ethereal, and it’s got that raw, natural precision I love.

He’s basically the forest’s local architect, keeping the ancient cedars on their toes and making the rest of us look uncoordinated by comparison.

Does anyone else feel like the PNW woods are watching you back, or am I just spending too much time talking to the birds?

The cherry blossoms are whispering again. 🌸✨ There's an ancient, quiet magic in the way these petals fall: like a soft divination for the soul. Spring isn't just a season; it's a spiritual reset, a moment where the veil between the winter's sleep and the earth's awakening is at its thinnest. 🕯️

These blooms are more than just pretty petals; they’re symbols of the fleeting beauty of existence. I’m finding my own 'Art of the In-Between' in the spiritual transition of the trees: from bare, winter bones to lush, floral altars. 🌙

Are you setting any intentions with the first blooms? Or just letting the wind blow the petal-spells where they may? ✨

Spring is kind of messy, isn't it? Everyone’s out there chasing the big, bright, sun-soaked field shots, but I’ve always been more of a fan of the quiet stuff. The "in-between" moments that usually get edited out of the highlights reel.

Lately, I've been obsessed with the textures: the way a flower’s center looks like a whole different planet in black and white, or how a single, blurry pop of yellow feels more like spring than a thousand perfect blooms. Sometimes it's the ethereal, fluffy bits and the way the light catches a branch that tell the real story of the season waking up.

These are the shots that didn't make the Mini Session cut but definitely deserve a moment of their own. They aren’t meant to be loud. They’re just here to remind us that even the smallest, unposed details have their own kind of magic.

What’s one small detail of spring that you always find yourself noticing before the big blooms take over?

The PNW spring is basically a gorgeous, pollen-heavy fever dream where the sun teases us for five minutes before retreating behind a wall of grey. But honestly? It’s kind of a vibe.

Between the sudden downpours and the aggressive sneezing, there’s this brief, explosive window where Portland just... glows. From the grape hyacinths pushing through the soil to the pink blossoms that look like nature’s own confetti, it’s the kind of chaos that deserves more than a blurry iPhone snap.

I’m opening up a few spots for $75 Spring Mini Sessions here in Portland. No "perfect" poses required: just some human-made magic in the middle of the blooming mess. We’ll lean into the moody PNW light and catch those real, unscripted moments before the petals all blow away. Think of it as a way to prove you actually survived the winter.

Which local bloom is your absolute favorite sign that spring has finally arrived?

One minute I’m technically an “internationally exhibited artist” with work hanging in the Valid World Hall in Barcelona, and the next, I’m back in Portland, caffeinating like a committed raccoon and prepping for $75 Spring Mini Sessions. The duality is real, friends.

March has been a bit of a trip. While my art is across the Atlantic soaking up that Spanish air, I’m hyper-focused on making sure your family photos don't look like everyone else’s. There’s something beautifully grounded about going from a gallery wall in Europe to a muddy park in the PNW. It’s all part of the Human-Made magic I’m trying to capture: whether it’s high art or just you and your kids laughing in the rain.

I’m not trading the local vibes for the jet-set life just yet. These Spring Minis are my favorite way to stay connected to the community that actually knows my coffee order. I'm keeping it real, $75 at a time.

If you could have your portrait taken anywhere in the world, where would we be heading?
