I believe family is everything, babies are naturally beautiful, and life with little ones is an adventure worth celebrating. Crunchy leaves, cozy sweaters, muddy shoes. After spending all that time and effort getting your family ready, I know it's hard to ignore them getting dirty while they play during your session. Do it anyway, play and be silly, and if you have the right photographer, the mud will magically disappear in your gallery! :)

A little tip for the perfect fall Gilmore Girls date with your family.
Start at Smith Berry Barn for apple picking, goat visits, seasonal milkshakes for the girls, and coffee for me.
Then cross the street for lunch at South Store Cafe, which has the BEST little small-town, Stars Hollow-ish energy and makes my heart happy every single time.

Here is what a fall Saturday actually looks like for me.
Up early, coffee in hand, out the door to shoot family mini sessions in the morning.
Somewhere around midday I'm calling my husband from the car asking him to please have the girls ready to go when I get home.
I walk in, we load up, and then we're off to a farm with two wild little kids and a PSL I definitely earned.
No transition. No break. Just full chaos, the best kind.
This is my fall and I genuinely love it.

Portland pumpkin patch season is officially here! Here are a few of our favorites:

Hoffman Farms in Beaverton - close to home for us, great playground, tractor slides, kettle corn, and never feels overcrowded.

Lee Farms in Tualatin - hayrides, a corn maze, bounce houses, farm animals, and the pumpkin donuts alone are reason enough to go.

Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch - the classic Portland experience. Huge fields, a corn maze, farm animals, and a you-pick flower field. Plan to make a day of it.

Roloff Farms in Hillsboro - yes, the one from the show. It's more expensive but it is genuinely a full day of activities and the kids lose their minds in the best way.

And if you want something a little different, Helvetia Farm Market is great for catching up with a mom friend over coffee or w**e while the kids run loose on the open lawn.

October weekends in my crazy life look like:

Morning - photographing fall mini sessions for families.

Afternoon - pumpkin patch with my own kids, PSL in one hand, a very muddy toddler in the other.

Evening - editing while convincing myself I'll go to bed at a reasonable hour.

Repeat every weekend until November.

Wouldn't trade it.

Why am I team thrift store for kids photo outfits?(and honestly, everyday life too)

āœØBudget-friendly! Kids outgrow things faster than we can blink. Instead of stressing over brand-new outfits, I love giving gently-loved pieces a second chance. Snag a thrift find, and then pass it along when your little one outgrows it.

āœØItā€™s better for the planet. Fast fashion might feel fun in the moment, but itā€™s not so fun for the earth. Choosing secondhand means less waste, fewer clothes in landfills, and a happier planet. Little choices really do add up.

An excited hello when I arrive, give me all the hyper dog energy! Your dog KNOWS I'm a dog person already!

With a few treats nearby, we let your pup pop in and out naturally.

Dog hair and little distractions are part of real life, and Iā€™m happy to tidy up tiny things in editing later.
