Some words of wisdom when working with a documentary style photographer- Minimal direction does not mean aimless moments or photographs.

It is so easy to get caught up in the familiar “look at the camera and smile” but pleaseeee refrain from adding that pressure to your kids. I don’t want them to look at my camera and smile, I want them to look at you, deeply into your eyes, and engage with YOU. You have endless opportunities to have them smile at your iPhone, but how often do you have the opportunity to love on them and have somebody there to capture all of those moments. Embrace this time, make the most of your investment!
