I took five film cameras to Disneyland, and here’s what I learned: don’t take five film cameras to Disneyland 🤭
(Breakdown of all five cameras below)
Even though I got some really sweet memories, balancing so many cameras caused me to make some really preventable mistakes. For example, I left my Holga in bulb mode for half a roll 😵💫
If I were to do this again, I’d take just one Kodak fun saver per day and the holga!
Fun saver: easiest way to grab memories. Flash is always charged and ready to go, love how the plastic lens renders shadows behind the flash. Best Disneyland camera!
Kodak Sport: similar effects of the fun saver, but no flash on board. Probably could have just consolidated down into a basic disposable with flash.
Reto: I love the wide angle, and this is a small camera that doesn’t take up too much room in a bag. But at Disneyland, you REALLY don’t want to carry anything extra. Since there’s no flash, I might leave this one at home next time.
Ricoh FF 3D… this one back focused 95% of the time. But I love the super strong, glowy flash, and these photos are some of my favorite from the trip. Iconic!
Holga: accidental bulb mode. Flower double exposures. Despite the operator errors… I came home with some really cool photos from this one. I’d do it again!
Which one is your favorite? 📷
