One of the perks of being a photographer is getting to take your own maternity photos!

A tripod and a short walk down to the pond was all it took for and I to capture these together. It’s not often I’m the one in front of the camera, but for a special moment like this I just had to. And honestly it was really fun! After so many years of posing clients I’ve become a master at slight adjustments and leaning into the moment. Being on the other side of the lens validated just how much I’ve grown in this sense. And with my wedding season being in full swing now I’ve already been learning a lot about how to juggle this job with my growing family. Would I have preferred our baby to be due during the off season? Sure! But I’m taking it all in stride! And having so much fun along the way!!

Lucky Cheetah for an engagement feels like a cheat code.

I’ve been really leaning into direct flash lately.
It’s been pushing me to think differently about light, about space, about how much we can play instead of chasing what’s expected from engagement photos.

This session felt like a turning point for that. We spent the afternoon drinking champagne, talking about their first date, experimenting, laughing a lot, and just letting the energy build naturally in front of the camera.

And honestly, being in a place like made it way too easy to make something special — velvet couches, reds and golds accents, candlelight, cheetahs everywhere and to top it off a space that actually invites you to create.

I don’t get why people are against winter weddings when they can look like this!
