One of my most recent endeavors (that took me waaaay out of my comfort zone) was to photograph two Basic Combat Training graduations at Fort Leonard Wood. It was truly an honor getting to see all of these new soldiers show off their pride in their most recent life accomplishments. The hard work, dedication, time spent away from family and friends is truly something that not many people will ever have the courage to endure. The soldiers (aka Drill Sergeants and Command Team) that lead these "civilians" into their new life as soldiers are some of the most hard-working, selfless people who uphold the Army's traditions and instill them into these young people at the cost of spending countless hours and days away from their own families. I couldn't be more humbled that I was chosen to capture this very intimate experience. Congratulations to some of the Army's newest soldiers and their leaders!

Today was a very humbling day, I got to witness a brand new class of Soldiers graduate from basic training. The hard work and dedication that these young men and women have put fourth in these last 10 weeks of their lives is something that only 1% of the American population has the courage and strength to do. Not only has it been tough for the trainees, but also their Drill Sergeants and Command Team. Congrats to all these soldiers and the men and women who trained and mentored them into the people they are today.

My cousin is MARRIED!! I had the pleasure of freezing my butt off while working on my skills. I was very graciously asked if I could capture some true, raw moments on my cousin Zach's very special day. His bride was beautiful, from that dress to how perfectly her hair and makeup were done. The cake (and cupcakes) were beyond amazing...I may have had 2 cupcakes AND a piece of cake! The hotel couldn't have been a more perfect location for a NYE wedding either. The Charmant overlooks the Rotary Lights in downtown LaCrosse, so beautiful once the sun goes down. Honestly, I couldn't have been more happy to bring in the new year with such wonderful people and be able to share these beautiful moments with them. Congrats to this wonderful couple, may 2018 be one of the best yet!

It was an almost 60 degree day here in beautiful Wisconsin on November 13th. Wait, what?! 60??? It was a perfect day for some family pictures. Also, Jill is my "cousin-in-law". It was my first time at their new home in Verona. As I pull up, I couldn't help but laugh because a neighbor kid was trying to coax a huge cat out from under their car. I later find out that the huge cat is a stray "neighborhood cat". It was the cutest thing. Once we get to our beautiful destination, located pretty much in their back yard, the smiles and cousin play-time commenced. Yes, there is a random child in one of the photos, that's my kid. Haha. It was such a pleasure taking pictures of this beautiful family.

Kai's mama is one of my best friends and when she asked if I could do some cake smash pictures last minute, of course I said yes! This little guy's party was decked out with mustaches and pumpkins. The older kids had so much fun decorating their own personal pumpkins and eating lots of delicious food. Kai didn't really know what to think about the whole cake smash idea, but with the help of dad, he kind of got into it. It was such a treat being able to capture some fun moments for this little guy and his family.

This little lady is about to turn 1! It may have been the hottest, most humid day of the year when we did these pictures, but she sure was one happy little baby regardless. I am so excited to see this little girl grow up, it feels like just yesterday when I took some newborn pictures of her. Moira Joy, you truly are a little joy in everyone's life. Keep smiling sweet girl, keep smiling!
